Most people try to solve problems based on how they feel or what they do, only to find that those changes are short lived or unattainable. Biblical Counseling goes to the heart of the matter because that’s where lasting change begins.
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23

What is Biblical Counseling?
Biblical Counseling is also called nouthetic counseling. Nouthetic comes from the Greek word for counsel is nouthesia. There are three ideas of Biblical Counseling found in the word nouthesia. They are confrontation, concern and change. In other words, Biblical Counseling is “speaking the Truth of God in love, with the compassion of Christ, in such a way that will help them make the changes in their lives that bring glory to Him. It is based on God’s Word, not man’s philosophies. (Colossians 2:8)
The one model of Biblical Counseling is based on Ephesians 4:22-24 which says, “You were taught with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your mind; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” This is the “Put Off, Put On” dynamic that helps us, as creatures of habit, to “put off” the old habits of living, and replace them, by putting on the new habits that are pleasing to the Lord because the motive of our heart is to please and honor Him with our life.
